Comprehensive Implant Options

All-on-4 dental implants aren't always the most suitable option. Because our dentist in River Edge, NJ, is skilled in performing a range of implant treatments, he can provide the solution that is best for you. Whether that involves a bone graft, sinus lift, traditional implants, or All-on-4, you can trust that Dr. Malki is equipped to meet your needs.

Hear From Dr. Malki On Implant-Supported Dentures

In this short video, Dr. Stephen Malki explains how implant-supported dentures transform daily life compared to conventional dentures. Patients who once relied on pastes and glues to hold their dentures in place can eat, speak, and taste food without their teeth shifting. Dr. Malki walks through the options of four, five, or six implants per arch and who makes a good candidate. He also shares the feedback he hears most often from patients after treatment: they can finally eat the foods they love again, steak included.

Affordable Full-Arch Restoration With Flexible Payment Options

All-on-4 is often a more cost-effective path to a full-arch smile than traditional implants because it requires fewer implants and typically avoids preparatory procedures like bone grafting. We work to make treatment accessible so cost doesn't stand between you and a restored smile:

  • Insurance: Dental insurance doesn't typically cover All-on-4 implants themselves, but it may cover the cost of your restoration. Our team will work with your provider to maximize your coverage.
  • CareCredit® financing: Our office accepts financing through CareCredit®, letting you pay for treatment in installments rather than all upfront.
  • Long-term value: With proper care, implant-supported restorations can last 10 years or longer, and the implants themselves can last a lifetime.

If you're interested in All-on-4 but unsure about your payment options, our team in River Edge, serving Bergen County, NJ, will be happy to review which options are best for you and your finances.

All-on-4 vs. Traditional Dental Implants

All-on-4 implants

All-on-4

With this technique, we can anchor your denture with only four strategically placed implants. All-on-4 is specifically designed to maximize contact with your available bone tissue to achieve stability. The two back implants are placed at an angle, rather than vertically. This means that some patients with jawbone atrophy can qualify for this treatment without undergoing preparatory dentistry procedures like bone grafting or a sinus lift.

Traditional Dental Implants

Traditional Dental Implants

Traditional dental implants can require the placement of six to eight implants per arch, but it is important to note that the number of dental implants depends on the unique case. These dental implants are placed straight into the bone rather than at an angle. Because of the vertical placement and number of implants required, this treatment option requires more bone density. As a result, many patients require bone grafting, a sinus lift, or both.

All-on-4 Offers Distinct Advantages

Fewer Implants

Four to five implants are placed, some at an angle, to maximize the existing jawbone tissue, often eliminating the need for bone grafting.

Immediate Results

A high-quality temporary prosthesis can be placed the same day as your procedure so you never have to go without a complete smile.

Can Treat More Patients

If you have jawbone recession, you might have been told you do not qualify for traditional dental implants. In these cases, All-on-4 dental implants may be a good alternative for you.

Lower Cost

Since fewer implants and preparatory procedures are needed, the All-on-4 method is typically a lower cost implant treatment than full arch replacement with traditional dental implants.

Restore Your Smile With All-on-4 Implants

“Malki Dental is the best dental office in Bergen county. The front desk always responds promptly to questions and sends helpful scheduling reminders. The hygienists, especially Ana, are thorough but gentle. Dr. Malki is simply the best. I'd never go anywhere else.” — Christopher, 5-Star Review

If you are missing a tooth or several teeth in a row, prosthetics like implant-supported crowns and dental bridges are great options to fill out your smile.

Replacing a whole arch of teeth or a smile with many missing teeth requires a larger upgrade. All-on-4 dentures are fully-functional replacement teeth that can help you chew and talk just as you did with your natural teeth.

Dr. Malki opened his River Edge office in 1999 and has conducted numerous dental implant surgeries since then. To learn how he can help you smile again, request a consultation with our dentist.

The Treatment Process

You can undergo the entire implant treatment process at our office in River Edge, NJ.

The All-on-4 implant procedure can make this dentistry solution more accessible to those who have lost bone tissue.

Planning & Preparation

Dr. Malki can develop a surgical plan, create a surgical guide, and perform any preparatory procedure you need, including bone grafts and periodontal treatment.

Anesthesia

On the day of your dental procedure, we will first make sure you are completely comfortable by administering local anesthesia.

Incisions

Next, Dr. Malki will make small incisions in your gums to access the jawbone.

Implant Placement

Dr. Malki will strategically embed four or five implants into the jaw. With the All-on-4 method, the two implants in the back of the jaw are placed at an angle to maximize contact with the remaining bone tissue and create a stable foundation for your dentures.

Immediate Dentures

If you qualify for immediate placement, Dr. Malki will attach a temporary prosthesis to your implants on the same day as your surgery.

Osseointegration

After implant placement, it takes three to six months for the implants to fuse with the surrounding bone tissue. This process, known as osseointegration, ensures your implants are stable enough to support your permanent dentures.

Custom Dentures

When your implants are healed, we will take digital impressions of your mouth at our practice so your custom denture can be fabricated to fit over your gums and look like natural teeth. The dentures will be crafted according to these impressions for a precise and comfortable fit.

Recovering After Surgery

We don't recommend heading straight to the steakhouse right after surgery. Instead, plan to go home and rest for a few days, eating only soft foods.

Although you will leave our office in River Edge with a fully restored smile and stable dentures, you must remember that your implants and jaw are still becoming integrated, the recovery time for which will take about three to six months.

This doesn't necessarily mean an occasional steak is off limits while you heal, but it does mean you must take time to cut it into very small pieces in order to avoid straining the implants and bone tissue.
